The move was to converted premises on Ringvägen in Stockholm, where one challenge for Indicum was to find a floor plan that, despite a smaller area than the Competition Authority’s previous premises, would enable the agency to expand. The new premises had a low ceiling height, but thanks to creative solutions from Indicum, with visible installations and smart spatial planning, the ceiling could be raised. In order to create an open and airy feeling in the premises, a floor plan with open spaces for light and common areas was developed. Light and lighting became an important factor in creating a pleasant working environment.
Another important prerequisite for the project was high sustainability requirements and a large proportion of existing furniture to be moved.
Solution
All meeting chairs and a large proportion of desks and work chairs have been reused. By having the meeting chairs reupholstered in new textiles, they were given new life and the colours could also be adapted to the overall colour scheme.
The interior design concept was named Northern Breeze and features a nature-inspired colour scheme on both walls and furnishings, with soft greens, cool blues and warm russet tones. The blue colour scheme is mainly used in the external parts of the office, while the green appears in the office and workplace environments. The russet tones are present in smaller break areas and conversation rooms.
The result was a sober and harmoniously coloured office that feels bright and open despite a lower ceiling height and several individual workspaces.

A nature-inspired interior design concept was the theme when the Konkurrensverket moved to new premises.
