Challenge

The brief was to create a more “relaxed” interior than the current office – to strike a balance between the traditional and representative and the cosy and comfortable. The environment was also to provide flexibility in the use of the space and invite more interaction between employees. The brief also included introducing more art and culture into the environment.

Solution

Ahlford’s head office is located in central Uppsala, housed in an antique turn-of-the-century building. For these premises, a concept was developed from the experience of a well-tailored suit. Soft, dressed up, tailored and representative.

The firm wanted to move away from the traditional image of a law firm and allowed art and fashion to take a greater place in the office. The interior design focused on textile details, tactile textures and sculptural furniture. In the entrance, a seating unit inspired by a catwalk was designed and artist Josefin Sjöström created a sculpture specifically for this piece of furniture and location.
