SMHI is moving to new offices in Gothenburg and Indicum has been given the task of refining and adapting their existing interior design concept based on the location and the conditions of the building. The new premises are located in Gothenburg’s Nya Varvet district, a former naval harbour with an inspiring and rich history. In the project, we worked with an interior design concept in four parts, which we called among the clouds, under the surface, the lighthouse and the shipyard. The concept unites the site and their activities and draws inspiration from their own research and areas of activity as well as Gothenburg’s connection to the sea and maritime activities. The overall goal of the project is that at least 50% of the total interior will be reused or purchased second-hand. A fun and important goal, we think!
