Project name

Sjukhusadministrationen, interior

Client

Akademiska Sjukhuset, Uppsala

Project time

1 year

Size

2000 sq m

Furnishing and coordination for the relocation of the management and administration of Akademiska Krankenhus, about 150 people, with a changed way of working (ABW) as a starting point.

The move was to the listed building from the 1860s, which has been renovated with great care.

Challenge

Design a functional interior environment in the context of the transition from fixed workplace offices to activity-based that fits in with the building while having its own character and recognition.

The key words for the concept were: create a “wow” feeling when you step into the space, flexibility (easy to rearrange), give energy, be welcoming and fit within a reasonable budget.

Solution

Indicum has created an environment with many different types of workplaces, ranging from quiet rooms with screened workspaces to open spaces with the possibility to work in sofas and meeting rooms of different sizes, with different types of seating for different types of meetings. Despite this wide variety, there is a common thread in the interior design concept that is based on the architecture of the building with stucco and turned profiles. The fact that the interior is inspired by the house is evident and it gives a calm and harmonious impression.
