DNV Gothenburg moved in 2021 to new premises in a brand new building in central Gothenburg. In this concept, we move between heaven and sea. The spaces in the premises have each been given a theme. The meeting area connects to the sky, the kitchenette and break room to the ground and the open office landscape to the sea.
Challenge
Throughout, we have worked with watercolour patterns that are found in both the specially designed wallpaper and the textile carpet on the floor. The colours alternate between blue, green and turquoise. The concept is inspired by DNV’s own operations, with missions both at sea and in the air.
Solution
The new furnishings were already largely selected from the existing manual. In addition, we were free to add anything that would give the office a more personal touch. The result was a unique wallpaper with watercolour patterns. The wallpaper gives the office a more cosy feel while adding life and movement. They create an exciting contrast to the more austere interior. The watercolours are in shades of blue, which brings to mind the sea and water, where the inspiration comes from DNV’s maritime activities.
The colours alternate in blues, greens and turquoise. The concept is inspired by DNV’s own operations, with projects connected to the sea as well as the air.
By reusing so much of the furnishings, both the environment and money have been saved, which has resulted in the project’s purchases being significantly lower than the original budget.
