In this year’s first issue of Arkitektur magazine, our CEO Kristin Östberg contributes two articles. One article is about the new climate declaration and the other article highlights the importance of colour in emergency services.
In the opinion piece “Äntligen börjar vi förstå inredningens miljöpåverkan”, Kristin raises the issue of the low status of interiors in Sweden and the importance of changing this. Interior architects have an important role to play in reducing our climate and environmental impact. “Now is the time to take interiors more seriously, which is brought up to date by the new climate declaration”. Indicum has worked on the interior for the emergency services in Luleå and Kristin talks about her experiences from that work in the article series “4 x Färg”. As we need to reduce our impact on the climate and the environment, interiors and spaces are increasingly high on the agenda. With the EU’s new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which means that companies must start to account for sustainability and report according to the new EU regulations, Swedish companies and organisations need tools to be able to account for the environmental impact of their interiors.
