Indicum at Almedalen
How can we reduce the climate impact of refurbishment projects in a meaningful way? The question is being discussed more frequently, yet in many projects it is still unclear how responsibility is translated into practice.
We are participating through Hållbar Interiör as part of the programme hosted by the Byggekologi Foundation. Our CEO Kristin Östberg and our Head of Sustainability Therese Löwstedt will take part in the seminar “Who takes responsibility for the climate in the refurbishment phase?”, held in collaboration with Prodikt. Carsten Svensson, Head of Market Development at Prodikt, will also participate.
The seminar takes place at Hamnplan, site 214, on Wednesday 24 June, from 14:00 to 15:00. The conversation will focus on how climate considerations can be more clearly integrated throughout the entire process, from early decisions to implementation. For us, Almedalen is not only a place to share knowledge. It is also an opportunity to place our own experiences in a broader context.
In our projects, we often encounter the same situation. An organisation is relocating or undergoing change, and many critical decisions need to be made quickly. What should be preserved, what can be reused, and what needs to be replaced? These choices have a significant impact, yet they are not always supported by sufficient data. This is where we aim to contribute. Through Hållbar Interiör, we develop methods that make it easier to compare alternatives. When climate data, reuse and design are considered together, decisions become clearer and more long-term.
At the same time, it is evident that these challenges cannot be solved within individual projects alone. For real change to happen, more actors need to move in the same direction. Clients, property owners, consultants and suppliers all need to share both knowledge and responsibility. This is one of the reasons why Almedalen matters to us. It is a place where perspectives that rarely meet are brought together. It offers an opportunity to both listen and contribute, and to connect what happens in projects with the decisions that shape the industry in the long term.
We look forward to being part of that conversation, and to continuing the work of making sustainable interior architecture possible in practice.
