We are living in a digital golden age, moving from working with tools to create to managing tools that think

“Sustainability is about being mindful, using resources and appreciating variety.”

Indicum Art

Artistic decoration creates added value and we think it is important to prioritise art for both public spaces and offices. Indicum art works with three parts – artistic decoration in projects, exhibitions and art project coordination.

In our interior projects at Indicum, we always strive to ensure that there is a space for art. This may be that foiling on glass is given an extra special artistic look or that a piece of furniture is specially designed with great artistic freedom. Working with Uppsala City Hall, illustrator and artist Julia Groth has created a wild flowering summer meadow inspired by Uppsala’s flora, which extends throughout the new City Hall. Julia’s flowers move through perforated wall-covering sound absorbers, like foiled glass panels and large-format printed textiles.

We also work on innovative collaborations and organise exhibitions for young artists. Among other things, we organise an annual exhibition during Culture Night in Uppsala where we invite recent graduates from Konstfack, Beckmans and HDK to show their work.

In our work with art project coordination, selected professional artists are invited to develop an artistic design. We map out the conditions, analyse the possibilities and invite interesting artists to tender. We then project manage the consulted artist in dialogue with the client from the start until the artwork is installed on site.

Indicum also carries out shorter projects where existing art and design is purchased directly on behalf of the client.

KRO guidelines are taken into account in all our projects.

Cecilia Tjärnberg, Interior Designer SIR/MSA and Artist, runs Indicum Konst. She graduated from Konstfack and is a professional artist with a focus on sculpture.

– It is a great advantage to start from an office with colleagues who have an understanding of spatial context and materiality, which everyone at Indicum has, when working with this art, says Cecilia.

Forever lost in clown land

With the exhibition Forever lost in clown land, we have allowed a vision of colour, texture and form to emerge that ties in with our working process on concepts.
